Granny Bag
Ta-da! It's finished - finito - complete - you get the idea. I lined it with brown cotton fabric (recycled from Ikea curtains) and added brown and white polka dotted pockets and a magnetic snap. I love this bag so much just for the outside layer but that polka dot does add an extra cute punch. I wanted to show you the inside, but I forgot to take pictures during this shoot and I'm afraid if I wait for another good opportunity to take a picture then you would be waiting a while for this post.
The bag is inspired by this bag from Anthropologie. I brought the bag with me to Easter brunch where I could show it off to my Mom and thank her again for teaching me how to crochet a granny square. She was really impressed with it. My middle sister, not so much. I like to think that this is because we have different tastes and that is ok by me. To each her own.

What a beautiful bag. It reminds me of a pillow my grandmother had on her couch made of granny squares. I always loved that pillow. I never thought about making squares for a bag. I just might have to try this. Thanks for the inspiration.
The bag is gorgeous! I love the colors you used. My younger sister is not so impressed with my crocheting either. She sat on the couch next to my mother and I a few weeks ago when my mother taught me how to make my first granny square and my sister had zero interest. That's right. Zip. To each her own, right? :) Great job on the bag!
I love your bag. I didn't think that something like this would look that cute. Might have to try it out!
Hi there, just found your site - always lovely to stumble upon another inspiring creative blog.
I love the granny square bag, the colours are beautiful, and I'm sure the polka dot lining really complements the outside.
IT's fabulous! I love the anthropologie bag and I'm ready to start one for myself. Nicely done!
I freaking LOVE this bag. I haven't crocheted before but I'm a knitter... was it hard to do? (The sewing up/finishing part??)
Well done!

Thanks for all the bag love! If you have any questions about the process, please e-mail me at creativereveries@yahoo.com. I'd love to help!
I think I might put up a little mini-tutorial on how to make the lining and put it all together. Is there interest in that?
Hells yes! That would be fantastic.
Love your bag! Just curious about the lining - is it a slightly "heavier" fabric.? In the pic, your bag doesn't look its sagging and I have such a bad habit of stuffing my purses. Tutorial would be fantastic! Again, fabulous job!
I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I love that bag! The colors are so pretty.
