All in the Details

This shirt has been hanging in my closet zipperless for over a month. I finally pulled it out yesterday and attached the zipper and finished the hem. I used Simplicity 3927 again for this shirt. The only alteration I did was attaching an invisible zipper on the side instead of in the back as the pattern calls for. I really love this pattern and fear that my wardrobe will consist of ten shirts in this style. Will people notice this or can I fool them by changing the fabric each time?

Do you share my problem of putting off finishing details or is it just me? I must make a new rule for myself about not starting new projects before I "finish" the one at hand. Speaking of details, here's a shot of the new ring I bought myself at the beach last weekend. It's a little cheap thing but I love it. Can you guess what my favorite color is these days?

P.S. Four weeks and counting.

I love your new shirt, and I don't think there's anything wrong with having 10 tops of the same design - people will only notice how well your shirts fit! And I love your new ring, green makes me think of spring!

Beautiful shirt. I have the sweetest little dress that I made for my daughter's second birthday still hanging in the closet without a zipper. She is five now so I think it never will get that zipper! so sad!

My mom worked with this lady who sewed for herself all the time. And she sewed lots of different patterns too and would make something 4 or 5 times out of different fabric. Thing was, she'd wear the same pattern all week. Same dress, different fabric. Then the next week she'd switch patterns. My mom never could figure out why she didn't mix it up. lol

Oh yeah and I love that top and that you put a zipper in the side instead of the back. I wonder why pattern makers don't do that to begin with? It's so much more modern!!!
